SAVEUS ECO ACHIEVERS QUIZ was conducted by the Rotary club of Chennai, Kilpauk on 30.11.2019 at MOP Vaishnav College for women. Students of classes V, VI and VII of TI School participated in the quiz. 42 schools, each school consisting of two teams participated in the Quiz competition.
TI school secured the fifth position in the "SAVEUS ECO ACHIEVERS QUIZ". All the students were given participation certificates.
Students of 9th std (16 students) from Nature Club were a part of Hygiene Expo conducted by Little Drops at PerunthalaivarKamarajar Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Ambattur. Children were given awareness on water usage, disease, causes and prevention of disease, life support, addiction and healthy life style.
The Info bee club in-house camp was attended by 35 students of classes VI to IX on 1.11.19 and 2.11.19. The camp was inaugurated by Mr. M. Jegadheeswaran, Assistant Librarian, Connemara Public Library, Egmore, Chennai at 6.00 pm. The ceremony started with a prayer followed by welcome address by Ms. Padmashree Shreya, President of the Info bee club. Mr. M. Jegadheeswaran gave the inaugural address motivating the children to be lifelong learners through stories. He spoke about the book which he wrote and donated a copy to our school library. He also threw light on the benefits of reading and being info bees.
Reading together session was enjoyed by the students. Children enjoyed watching the movie on the story of a young tribal girl who with great courage and curiosity to explore the world around undertook challenging journey along with her family and gained lot of knowledge.
'Seeker' game and 'News paper reading session' were conducted. 'Connexions' game for was about books, authors, sports and general knowledge. Ms. Thiripurasundari Sevvel, Honorary General Secretary of Madras Literary Society interacted with students. She shared a lot of information and knowledge with the children. Also she graced felicitation ceremony.

The Art and Heritage Club organised a trip to Mamallapuram on 23.11.2019. Twenty eight students and three teachers from both the clubs were a part of the trip during the Heritage week.
Mr.Illango from Archaeology department, Mamallapuram briefed about the significance and the story behind each sculpture.
Students viewed Pancha rathas, light house, Mahisasura Mardhini cave, Raya Gopuram, Krishna's butter ball. The last site of the visit was the Shore temple.
The trip enriched the knowledge on the architecture of Pallava kings.
The second round of Online Quiz "TCSiON IntelliGeM- 2019-20" was conducted on 27.11.2019 for students who were selected in the first round (10 students of class IV to IX) to create an understanding and appreciation of the various 21st Century competencies. The topics (Communication skill, Creativity and Empowerment, Financial Literacy and Global citizenship) were similar to the first round but with more depth in the concepts.
KINDERGARTEN FIELD TRIP "MY NEIGHBOURHOOD" Took place on 22nd November 2019, Friday. Children of UKG were taken for Field Trip to the Shiva Temple and the Ambattur Post Office. At the post office they were welcomed by Mr.Vishwanthan (postmaster) and he spoke about the purpose and the function of the post office .Children were also taken around to take a glimpse of the Police station and Fire station . This extended into a class activity wherein children were asked to draw their favorite place.
The students of standard VII visited the India Seashell Museum on 13th of November 2019. Two teachers and two parents escorted the children. This field trip was designed in an effort to make the students understand the needs of museums and to gain knowledge about the things that are preserved in a museum.
The activity started with a brief note from the Manager of the Museum regarding the History of the museum, Shell collection and pearl culture. During his interaction with students, he posed a question on pearl culture for which P S Tharika of VII A responded appropriately and was presented a small gift. Videos on different types of sea species and pearl culture were screened.
Students moved to various galleries to view different types of shells displayed. Following this they visited the aquarium, where they saw different types of fishes.
They were then directed to the pearl museum where real and cultured pearls were displayed. This was followed by a visit to the Dinosaur Museum where they saw different types of 3D dinosaur models with sounds and movements.
Finally students visited the Art gallery where they saw 3D paintings of humans and animals.
Students learnt about 'pearl culture' and were provided an opportunity to identify the different types of shells available in the world. They also witnessed the world's largest and smallest shell. They also gained knowledge about the significance and uniqueness of Valamburi shell.
It was indeed a fulfilled and informative trip for the students.
An aptitude contest "TCSiON IntelliGeM - 2019 - 20", to create an understanding and appreciation of the various 21st Century competencies, was conducted for the students of Grades 5 to 9 on 12.09.2019. Children selected one Topic from the given topics (Communication skill, Creativity and Empowerment, Financial Literacy and Global citizenship) for the online quiz. Ten children out of twelve were selected for Round - 2 competitions.

Rhapsody organized and conducted Inter school group singing competition among city schools on 04/11/2019 at P.S.SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL, MYLAPORE.
15 students of our school participated and received participation certificates.
Our students were appreciated by the panel members for their performance.
