Commerce Department Activity - Economic Issues of India

The Department of Commerce conducted the activity 'Economics Issues of India' on 27th November 2021 through Microsoft Teams for classes XI and XII.

The chief guest of the day was Ms. CHITHRA REGIS, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Loyola College, Chennai.

The seminar commenced with the invocation to the almighty by SwethaPriya. This was followed by the welcome address by AaryaPareek.

The students benefitted through the activity. They learnt how to apply the concepts learnt, research in depth for information and to communicate well during their presentation.

Future of IT Trends – Powerpoint Presentation

On 27th November 2021, the department of Computer Science organized a virtual power point presentation on "Future of IT Trends" for class XI through Microsoft Teams. Mr. Sudharshan, Computer Science Teacher from AMM School was invited as chief guest to grace the occasion. The aim of the event was to promote extensive learning and enhance the interest and potential of the students in technology. The Chief guest shared his feedback on presentations. He interacted and motivated students to keep exploring to withstand updates in technology.

The Team members and audience participated enthusiastically. Code for facial recognition, chatbots and voice recognition were impressive.

On the whole, the session was highly informative, interactive and interesting.

Report on Kindergarten activity

Class activity was conducted for the upper kindergarten from 15th to 19th Nov 2021 through Microsoft Teams by respective LKG & UKG class teachers.

LKG children were encouraged to speak about toys. They needed to decide which was their favorite toy and speak about it to their friends in class. It was a pleasure to see children express themselves using simple sentences. It was spontaneous and not a rehearsed speech. Holding soft toys, dolls, trains and engines, the little ones spoke animatedly about it. The joy on the teachers' side matched their enthusiasm. Children were able to express and share their ideas well.

UKG children actively in exhibiting their learning on 'Family'. They spoke about the members in their family. The family photographs, drawings and handmade properties helped them to speak passionately about their family members. They spoke with confidence. The concept of 'big' and 'small' family was understood by the children. Each child spoke few lines about their family by framing simple sentences.

Through this activity children gained self-confidence. It also enhanced their speaking skills. Some parents appreciated their children and it created a positive vibe.

Murugappa Inter School Quiz – Preliminary Round

The preliminary round for the Murugappa Inter school quiz was conducted virtually on 01.11.21(Monday) through Microsoft Teams. Students of classes VI to X participated with great enthusiasm.

The subject teachers trained the students for the preliminary round by assigning Practice Quiz on a daily basis through Microsoft Teams Assignments. The selection of questions was based on various topics like Executive Heads of India, Olympics, Sports, Satellites of India, current affair and General Knowledge.

25 students from Class VI to X are shortlisted for the Semi-final round which is to be conducted on 22.11.21(Monday) in the school premises. The highest scoring team will represent TI School in the final round which will be conducted in the first week of December.
