Report on Interaction & Initiative Workshop Pathashaala(KFI), Chengalpettu on 2nd April, 2019

Twenty students along with Mrs. Sreelatha, Mr. Sankara Narayanan and Mr. Arunkumar went for an Interaction & Initiative Workshop to Pathashaala (KFI) at Chengalpettu on 2nd April,2019.

The day started with the orientation of 'Dry toilet' concept to save water. The main highlight of the day was 'Dry Toilet Compost Harvest Day'. The children of Pathshaala harvested the compost. The entire campus uses only Dry Toilets.

The students also saw the variety of paddy grown there. Next they saw the Neem Tree circle. It was a wonderful place for interaction.

Native variety of breakfast was provided. It was found that no junk food is consumed and there is no wastage of food in the campus.

In the Art & Craft centre, the children of Pathshaala presented PPT about their school. They shared about the Educator Learner and Learner Educator. They believe that there are no teachers and students, only learners.

Yet another interesting thing noticed was that there are absolutely no air conditioners in the campus. Power is used only from solar and wind mill. The building has a dome at the centre with an opening at the top. This helps the hot air to escape and maintain the temperature of the building.

After touring the campus, the children were grouped and each group was given one question to ponder and discuss. Questions were related to environment; connect to the world and other fields. Later these small groups presented their views on the question. Post that Mr. Gautama sir joined the group and discussions were held on the learning and take home for the day. It was an enriching experience for everybody.

Every moment, every activity and every experience within Pathshaala campus had an unspoken message with deep meaning.
