Kids to Jumbo – 11.08.16

Tree foundation, an NGO run by DR. Mrs. Supraja Dharani visited our school on 19.07.16 and presented her new project on ‘Rehabilitation of 3 elephants’, Indhu, Sandhya and Jayanthi. She appealed our school to contribute for the fodder of these elephants. These elephants were rescued by her from a temple at Kanchipuram through the forest department.

Currently they are living in a 18 acre land owned by her (Elephant Care Facility) which is at Kurumbaram village.

In connection with this, our school decided to have ‘Kids to Jumbo’, programme this month. On 11th Aug 2016, ‘Kids to Jumbo’ was organized and we are proud to share the happy news that we were able to collect 16.5 kg of Cumin seeds and INR 5200/- towards purchase of rice. The same was handed over to the representative of Tree Foundation who was present here on that day.
