Report of Meeting on Road Safety

Date: 26th of August 28, 2017

Venue: Auditorium,TI school

Time: 10:00 am to 11:00 am

Organiser: VPRL, KRK, MUP, JN, SN

Resource Persons: Mr.Padmanaban, Mr.Kumaresan (Duty planning officers, Ambattur zone traffic)

The meeting commenced with the welcome address by Mr. Ravi kumar and introduction of the chief guests by the vice-principal. Eight auto/van drivers and three RSP students attended the meeting. Mr.Padmanaban explained about the rules to be followed while driving such as

  • Not to use cell phones while driving.
  • Avoid playing music in the vehicle.
  • Not to use headphone while driving.
  • Restrict the number of students commuting.
  • Make use of emergency call facility in your mobile phones which can be used in case of emergency.
  • Save your relatives number with the way you are related to them so that traffic police can identify and easily approach the person in case of emergency.
  • To start early and send correct information to parents about the timings of pick-up and drop.
  • To start early, drive slowly and reach safely.

Mr. Kumaresan narrated about a few accidents that has happened and which could be avoided if drivers are cautious. There was also a demonstration on how people are hurt during accidents. He also cleared the doubts asked by the RSP students.

Report Of Volunteering Activity At SISH

We wish to thank you for the wonderful opportunity given to our students of Std IX in serving at SISH as volunteers .We are sure that the children have gained valuable insight with respect to hospital registration and other formalities and also have learnt to appreciate the value of volunteering and experienced the same.

The student volunteers of Std IX were involved in guiding the patients to the various departments at At the pharmacy, they helped patients in procuring the medicines. They also assisted the hospital staff in the crowd management by issuing tokens to patients.

Experiences of students in their words:-

Learnt to record weight of persons.

Felt very happy and satisfied while assisting and helping the aged.

Felt sorry for the physically weak old and aged people.

Interacting with unfamiliar persons was a new experience.

Feel lucky and privileged to have this experience.

Experiences of students in their words:-

It was a great experience in helping pregnant women to occupy seats and requesting attenders to wait in the waiting hall. Initially the attenders of the patients resisted and we smiled and requested them to wait in the hall.

Learnt that lot of patience is required while interacting with patients.

We thank the management for providing us with this wonderful learning experience.

Experiences of students in their words:-

My first experience of volunteering at a hospital.

I had my own reservations when I saw a crowded place. But soon I said to myself that I am a volunteer and started my work on guiding patients to the different departments. I enjoyed helping patients at the registration counter. I learnt to answer people's queries without showing any irritation.

I realized that it was not very easy working in a hospital. It requires a lot of patience. I felt great volunteering at the hospital.

Totally amazing experience.

Felt very sympathetic when I saw a woman who had no hands and said to myself "let me make the best use of my hands" in whatever way I can.

I enjoyed being a navigator for patients.

Learnt how to be calm.

It was a nice feeling when a patient whom I helped blessed me.

  • The mask and gloves didn't make us doctors but made us feel like as we were.
  • Patients seeking my help made me feel very important.
  • My goal was to make the patients feel comfortable.
  • Learnt how to check blood sugar report. A great learning experience.
  • Felt as though I was a nurse while helping the patients.
  • Thank you for this opportunity.

I helped a mother by engaging her small child by playing with her. It was a different experience.

I organized the queue of patients waiting to collect their lab test reports.

Today's experience was a different one. I helped the staff in collection of blood test reports.

Issued tokens for patients waiting to consult the Diabetologist.

Was amazed at the number of patients coming to SISH everyday.

Theatre fest

All the world's a stage

TI School proudly presented 'Comedy Evening' on the 23rd of August 2017. 27 students of higher secondary acted in the production of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' which is one of Shakespeare's most celebrated and enjoyed plays. There was humor, happiness, magic and mischief which the actors brilliantly expressed and captivated the audience. We relived the 'dream' and wished to never wake up from it!

Objective of the activity:

  • Experience the joy of sharing and caring
  • Practice clean food habits
  • Create an awareness on healthy and nutritive food

A detailed report of activity: The Community lunch 2017 was held on the 28th of July 2017. Children were asked to carry a variety of food items which was discussed prior with parents and shared through a circular. The community lunch started with a prayer followed by parent volunteers and teachers serving food. Children enjoyed the food with their friends and the teachers around. A discussion on the nutritive value of the food items, the importance of doing one’s own chores and keeping the surrounding clean was highlighted. Children listened and abided by the same. Every child felt the enthusiasm and the sheer joy of sharing. They happily walked back to their classes and continued with the afternoon session.

Select students from class VI to IX participated in the Murugappa Culturals 2017 Competition held at SRM School on Saturday, 19th Aug 2017 and brought laurels to our school by winning many prizes

Community Lunch:

Class VI had commnunity lunch on 18th Aug 2017. Students learnt the habit of sharing by sharing their food with friends, teachers and parents.

Report On Independence Day

With freedom in our mind, faith in our words and pride in our souls we commemorated the 70th anniversary of the Indian Independence Day. The formal celebration began with the traditional hoisting of the national flag followed by the singing of the national anthem, flag song and the bharathiyar song which reverberated through the school. The pledge etched patriotism in our hearts. The inspiring Independence Day message was delivered by the Principal.

Interschool Sports Meet

Murugappa Interschool Sports Meet, an event organized by the Murugappa Trust for all the four schools was held on 5th Aug 2017 at Vellayan Chettiar Higher Secondary school at Thiruvattriyur. Sixty Nine students participated in various events out of which 48 students brought in lots of laurels to the school by emerging as winners in various events.

  • Kaviya Priya S of class XI C and Lakshaya S of class VIII bagged the Individual Championship s in their respective categories.
