Margazhi Utsav 2019

A traditional and auspicious art form of India, 'Kolam/Rangoli' art is drawn on the floor at home entrances to welcome divine forces into homes. The art of kolam is known throughout India but by different names. While the kolam is drawn throughout the year, it is especially important during Margazhi. It symbolizes happiness and prosperity Kolam-drawing is a vigorous early morning physical exercise, especially for the eyes and the hands. It also instills mental discipline and concentration in those who draw it as even the slightest wavering of the mind or the tremble of fingers can unalterably mar a beautiful design.

The Heritage club of our school takes immense pleasure in celebrating this tradition as 'Margazhi Utsav' every year in the month of January.

This academic year it was celebrated on 13th January 2019, Sunday.
