International Yoga Day

Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self - 'The Bhagavad Gita'.

The theme quoted for Yoga Day 2018 is 'Yoga for Peace'.

The Fourth International Yoga Day was observed at T.I. Matriculation Higher Secondary School on June 21st 2018.

The yoga session was led by S. Lakshaya along with her young and energetic team members including N. Aditya, D.V. Tharun, R. Saroruha, T. Sahithya, K. Surya, P. Ashish , S. Akash Kumar, E. Raghuram, N.Sahana and D. Kavya.

On this day, the students of STD VI and VII were educated on the importance on practicing yoga and how yoga aids in curative and therapeutic ways in a human body.

Students presented distinctive Asanas and Pranayama that devoted to inner peace and outer well-being of the human body. The students of Class VIII & IX who were trained, performed Surya namaskar, Sarvangasana, Shashankasana and Eka Padasana which was applauded and considered the highlight of the event.

S. Lakshaya explained the advantages of yoga and ways that yoga helps to increase flexibility, strengthening the muscles, protecting from injury, provides effective concentration power , weight-reduction, creating self-awareness, reducing stress, to keep oneself fit and healthy. The students felt refreshing, calm, flexible, energetic and happy post session.
