Enthusiasm and Energy United on Annual Sports Day

“Sports is the celebration of the human spirit and youth, it not only inspires young minds but also teaches good values and ethics to young students.”

T.I School, celebrated its 39th annual sports day on 26th August 2023 amidst great enthusiasm. The chief guest invited to the event was Ms.R.Archana, Managing director,San Academy group of Schools, Chennai and the guest of honour was Ms.Sujatha Saravanan, Senior Principal, San Academy group of Schools.We also had Mr.Sundar, Correspondent and Secretary of VCHSS and SRMHSS amidst us.Other members present were the Principal,Vice Principal,Section Heads,teaching and non-teaching faculty, and a large gathering of parents with their children to witness the grand event.Ms.Sarojini of class XII welcomed the gathering. The sports day commenced with invocation song followed by an invocation dance.

The principal greeted guests and dignitaries with floral bouquets . The event had its grand opening with the hoisting of the School Flag and declaration of the Sports Meet Open by the chief guest Ms.R.Archana who inspired students with her mesmerizing speech.

The event opened with a glorious and well-synchronized March past with the contingents of four houses led by the band, Senior council and the Champions which left parental viewers speechless.

The most entertaining and fascinating events of the day were Zumba dance, Yoga display, Pyramids and Tableau involving mass student participation which were a feast to our eyes. These displays were alternated by energetic track events by the seniors and super seniors.The award ceremony came after all these events-medals, trophies, and certificates were awarded to the achievers of the various events. Parent events were conducted and first three prizes were awarded to them in each category.

The Parrot House was awarded for the best March Past performance and the Peacock House was declared the overall Best House in sports events.

The guest of honour Ms.Sujatha Saravanan declared the Sports meet closed and appreciated the students’ enthusiasm and participation in the day’s events. At the closing ceremony, and after a slow march by the Sports secretaries and house captains, the school flag was handed over to the principal. The blazing flame that hit the retreat and was then put to rest. What was witnessed was surreal and it was a very memorable day for all the teachers, administrators, and students who made the program very special.The Sports day ended with the National Anthem.

77th Independence Day Celebration in State Headquarters of Bharath Scouts and Guides Triplicane, Chennai

77th Independence Day was celebrated in the State Headquarters, Chennai in a very traditional manner. There was simplicity and elegance in the atmosphere. The solemn occasion was presided by Dr. K. Arivoli, State Chief Commissioner and Director of School Education on behalf of our honorable education minister. He hoisted the national flag and accepted the parade by scouts and guides district wise along with Dr. S. Kannappan, Director, Directorate of Elementary Education and Dr. M. Palaniswamy, State Commissioner Director of Non-Formal Education.

The importance of scouts and guides movement and the values like self-discipline, intellectual, emotional, social potentials to become responsible citizens was briefed by the chief guest. Trained teachers upgrading themselves as higher categories were awarded. Various cultural events were conducted. The celebration concluded with the national anthem.

Students learnt the history of State Head Quarters, decorum to be followed in the scouts and guides gatherings, and the various happenings of the movement.

Independence Day Celebrations

The day on which our ancestors were reborn to create history was the day of our nation’s independence. It was the time when young minds came together and made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. To ultimate sacrifice for the freedom of our nation, our school began this year’s Independence Day celebration. Mr.Ramesh, the Front Office Incharge hoisted the national flag. He has been a valued member of our school for the past three decades. The National Anthem was sung with patriotic fervor and followed by the pledge. In accordance with the occasion, our school choir performed patriotic songs which brought goosebumps. Ms. Chitra, Head Secondary delivered the day’s speech. Dance music and drama were a part of the cultural program. Sweets were distributed to the students. The event ended with a thank you speech delivered by our school pupil leader Deepak for making this day a special one.
