Industrial Waste Management Association & Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) conducted an Environment supportive competition on 30th of July, consisting of 4 events namely JAM, Best out of Waste, Pencil Sketching & Poster Making. The preliminary round was conducted at school to shortlist 4 members from 4 categories. Tarun Sai, Mohammad Sikkander, Ashish S and Jerusha were selected for Grades 4 & 5, 6 to 8 , 9 & 10 , 11 and 12 respectively. Mr. Karthick along with the selected students participated in the events.
At the end of the each event, the student participants had reported to the General Auditorium to receive the Participation certificates and Mementos. On the whole it was an exciting experience. We learnt to include increased knowledge about environmental issues, improved understanding of sustainable practices, enhanced critical thinking skills, and a heightened sense of responsibility towards the environment. Additionally, participants might develop better communication skills through presenting their ideas and solutions, fostering a sense of teamwork, and encouraging them to become advocates for positive environmental change.

“FOCUS ON THE OUTCOME, NOT THE OBSTACLE”
A screening test was conducted for 28 students on the 31st July, in order to identify and finalize three teams, each consisting of two members, from students of classes IX to XII, for the Preliminary round of the WIZ QUIZ competition organized by the National Defence Academy (NDA). The objective of the screening test was to assess students' knowledge in various fields such as current affairs, science, entertainment, sports, Armed forces and NDA, ensuring the selection of the most competent and well-prepared teams to represent TI School in the upcoming preliminary round of competition at the All India level.
The screening test consisted of 30 objective type questions for the duration of 30 minutes. After the test, the teacher in charge evaluated the answer sheets and six students were selected based on their scores. These students formed 3 teams and the teams were registered through online.
The following were the three teams:
1. Rajaviknesh V RA and Santhosh Kumar Keasari of class IX.
2. Ajay Krishnan Kashyap and Saptharrishi K J K of class X
3. Guru Prasad V and Naman Kothari P of class X.
The teacher in charge prepared the for the quiz individually. Links to different sets of quiz and two sets of sample quiz questions with answers were shared.
The three teams successively took up the 20 minute online Preliminary round of the WIZ QUIZ competition at the computer lab in school on 12/8/2023 between 9.00 a.m. and 9.15 a.m.

Junior Quiz- Round 1
‘SHAASTRA’ is the annual technical festival of IIT – Madras. SPARK , a 3-tier National quiz competition is a test based on the logical and mathematical reasoning skills of students of classes 7 to 10 scheduled on August 5, 2023.
Five students from our school were selected based on their performance in Logiquids- math Olympiad conducted by IIT-Bombay tech-fest. The selected students are as follows.
1. Aishwarya J –VIII A
2. Santhosh Kumar Kesari S – IX A
3. Ashish S.-IX A
4. Guru Prasad.V-X A
5. Thanmaya .R –X B
Among them four students participated in the first round of quiz held at the Mechanical science block, IIT-Madras, accompanied by their parents. Students from more than 20 cities across the nation participated in the event. Our students were fortunate to receive inputs on how to prepare and crack IIT-JEE examinations before commencement of the quiz.
The test was held between 10.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. The quiz contained 20 questions based on logical reasoning and critical thinking. More than 150 students from various schools participated and the top ten performers from each city will be selected for Level 2.The selection list will be shared via Telegram group and also through the registered E-mail ID within two weeks after the event.
